10 Things You Should Keep In Your Diaper Bag

Some people carry too much in their diaper bags. The bag is huge, stuffed full of who knows what and it just doesn't fit even though the bag is big enough for a weekend away. Others seem to get away with the little grab and go portable change kits which are no more than a change mat with a few pockets!
No matter whether you are a kitchen sink taker or a severe minimalist I still think there are ten items that are essentials for you to keep in your diaper bag at all times and I have listed them in what I consider to be order of importance.
1. Spare diapers - at least one but 3 or 4 would be ideal. Even if you are a cloth diaper user it never hurts to carry a disposable nappy or two for emergencies.
2. Wipes - packets of wipes are handy for clean ups and can be stored in your matching wipes case if you have one. Some mums like to use damp cloths which they keep and wash each day.
3. Change of clothes for baby - at least one change for the guaranteed blow-out or nappy failure. If you have room why not consider a change of clothes for yourself (I know I have had to drive home with milk/vomit stains on my shoulder and a damp patch on my skirt on more than one occasion from a nappy fail)
4. Change mat - padded is ideal, but one that folds or rolls up small is a good idea. If it is colour co-ordinated with your bag then even better and all the more stylish.
5. Diaper bags - for storing soiled diapers until they can be disposed of, many are even scented!
6. Diaper rash cream - really handy to have if a rash develops during the outing because there is nothing worse than an irritable baby with a sore bottom.
7. Hand sanitiser - essential when you are not near a sink for hand-washing with anti-bacterial soap to prevent the spread of bacteria.
8. Pouch for soiled clothing - a separate pouch or sealable pocket within the bag is a good place for storing soiled clothing until they can be cleaned on returning home.
9. Snacks/drinks for Mum/Dad and baby/siblings - always have snacks and drinks on hand to ward off grumpy, hungry toddlers or your own hunger needs. Especially useful if you are caught out by road works causing delays, a car accident or other emergency such as severe weather.
10. Cloth or wrap for babies that vomit or spill after feeds - a cloth or muslin wrap can come in really handy for mopping up minor spills or can even double as a temporary change mat if needed.
So, whether you are popping out of the house for 5 minutes, an hour or the whole day make sure you have your essential packed neatly in to your diaper bag. If you still have room optional extras to consider are a pacifier, favourite toy or comfort object.

Takchitas for the Lovely Ladies

Each country has its own culture and own dressing styles. Hanfu is the traditional dress for women in China; Saree is worn by Indian women, Kimono by Japanese and Takchitas by Moroccans.
As a matter of fact, Moroccans are known world over for their dress making styles. One will remain stunned seeing the delicacy and beauty of the craftsmanship of the Moroccans. The traditional handmade dresses are particularly most attractive and renowned. This style is a reflection of the creativity of the craftsmen from this region who play a great role in keeping the tradition of the country alive.
The main point to note in this craftsmanship is that the tailors and dressmakers rely on their hands to create beautiful dresses. The output is very high in quality with fine needlework accompanied by mesmerizing embroidery and handmade laces. The materials used by these dressmakers are of the highest quality. They use fine fabrics which include cotton, velvet, silk, satin, thread, gold etc.
The traditional handmade dresses can be categorized into - dresses for men and those for women. There are dressmakers who have expertise in making dresses for men, create djellaba or a long dress for men. This dress is made from various fabrics and also is available in various colours. Djellabas may be made from cotton for everyday wear or from wool or linen to keep the wearer warm. An interesting thing to note is, that in some parts of the country the colour of this traditional dress denotes the marital status of the person wearing it.
The other dressmakers who create dresses for women make Takchitas and Kaftans. Takchitas resemble Moroccan Caftans and are worn at special functions like weddings etc. This traditional dress is made of two pieces. The first layer is a dress which is made of fine fabric which is ornamentally decorated. The second layer is more elaborate and is worn on the first layer or the dress. The second layer of these Takchitas is an over-dress that can be buttoned in the front using traditional akaad and sfifa closures. This upper layer is usually adorned and richly decorated with sequins, beading, or embroidery. This first layer is called Tahtiya and the second one is called Dfina or Fougia.
Many people confuse Caftans or Kaftans with Takchitas. However both these are not the same. Takchitas are worn with a belt called Mdamma made of silk or gold or silver and is decorated with valuable stones like ruby, diamonds, emeralds, and sapphires. Takchitas are a two-piece dress. On the other hand, Kaftans are a one-piece dress worn without the Mdamma or belt.
Many celebrities worldwide have flaunted these Takchitas and Kaftans. A few notable ones include politician Hillary Clinton, singer Beyonce, American star Jessica Simpson, and American actress and the winner of the Academy Award Susan Saradon.
The Royal family of Morocco flaunts their traditional dress at international events. Most Moroccans regard Princess Lalla Selma to be the biggest shining star of the royal family of Morocco who has made the traditional Moroccan Kaftan and Takschita famous globally.
Today fashion shows have contributed largely in bringing Kaftans and Takchitas to the world. In fact some fashion shows have kept Takchitas the main theme of the event. The world of fashion is always incomplete without the inclusion of jeans. There are many choices to make when it comes to jeans for women. Regardless of your size, you can find different styles of jeans featuring different cuts and colors. Unfortunately, many of the women are not taking the time to choose their jeans carefully. Therefore, it is not uncommon to find these women wearing a pair of jeans that does not fit perfectly. It is important to find a pair that has a cut that suits you. If you are pregnant, you should avoid wearing baggy pants and instead opt for designer jeans. The following are some of the factors to consider when choosing jeans, including:
· Size of the waist
This is an important factor when choosing a pair. It is advisable to choose a pair of jeans based on the size of your stomach. You may consider a pair that features an adjustable waist area. This will help you adjust the waistline depending on the size of your waist.
· Color of the jeans
Any woman looking for an opportunity to look less bulky should consider wearing black skinny ones. Therefore, if you are in your last trimester, when you look larger and heavy, you may consider wearing black ones. However, it is important to have several brightly colored ones to match your colored or white tops and blouses. It is important to have red, purple, yellow, pink, lime green, royal blue and orange jeans- among other colors.
· Fashion trends
Many of the younger women choose to buy jeans depending with the trends. As a result, it is a common phenomenon to find them wearing distressed, ripped, destroyed and acid wash jeans. For middle-aged women, more conservative jeans are recommended. When choosing jeans it is important to consider maximum comfort by purchasing a pair that is designed using comfortable material. This will prevent feelings of itching when wearing them.
· The price
If you have a limited budget, it is advisable to consider their price. Therefore, you do not have to spend several hundreds of dollars on a pair. This is particularly the case for maternity ones since you will need them for a few months. You may consider coupons online to benefit from discounts. However, if you want a pair that can last you several years, you cannot ignore the quality of the jeans. Like all other product, high quality demands a little more money.
